The Eastside of Gibraltar is every beach lover's dream! With three sandy beaches to choose from; the first and largest is Eastern Beach which lies directly beside the International Airport. The area also features a large Government funded residential estate called 'Beach View Terraces', which completed towards the end of 2015. Further along there's Catalan Bay, home to the elegant Caleta Hotel (4 star). Catalan Bay was originally a picturesque fishing village however, with some modernisation over the years it now features several bars and restaurants, along with spectacular homes that overlook the beach itself. And lastly there's Sandy Bay, home to the popular 'Both Worlds' development. This beach was regenerated in 2014 to enlarge, and protect it from further tidal erosion.
In addition to the beaches the Eastside also boasts several large warehouses and is part of an industrial estate, housing car dealers, construction companies, building supplies, and other outlets. It's just minutes away from the frontier, the International Airport and the city centre.
With definite plans secured for luxury residences, a winery and other interesting projects that are in the pipeline, it is fast becoming a rather vibrant area within Gibraltar.
